Competition Rules
- All photos submitted must be of the Glaslyn & Hafren area in Powys and have been taken by you
- Photos may be taken with any type of equipment and submitted in any digital format. While drone images can be submitted, the focus of the competition is terrestrial photography and we encourage participants to submit images taken using a camera or mobile phone/tablet device.
- You can enter photos taken in any year
- Retouching/manipulation of digital images is accepted
- Each entry is for up to 3 photos and costs £5
- Entries must be sent by the closing date to fundraising@stopbute.energy
- Each entry must have your photos attached and include your name, email address, contact number and where each photo was taken, together with confirmation that the entry fee has been paid

- The closing date for entries is 11.59pm on Sunday 8 September
- The 23 best photos (as judged by a panel) will be exhibited in the Wild Oak Café, Llanidloes and may become 2025 calendars. The photographer will be credited.
- The public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite photo in the exhibition and the winner of that vote will be offered a weekend in a luxury shepherd’s hut with its own private lake
- The winner will be announced by 30 November 2024
- By entering the competition, you are giving permission for your photos to be framed, exhibited and sold in aid of Protect Glaslyn & Hafren – the campaign to save this special area from being covered in huge wind turbines.
1. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photos entered.
2. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the images for the competition, each entrant agrees that the organiser can feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, social media, website or in any promotional material, which may include display materials. As part of announcing the results the Stop Bute Energy campaign will also need to share the images with local press contacts. All images used will be credited to the photographer.
3. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. Further, entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
4. Take your photos responsibly. Seek relevant permissions for taking photos where required and always follow the Countryside Code.
5. The entrant must have obtained permission of any people featured as subjects in the entries, who are clearly identifiable in the image. If you are photographing or commissioning photography of people you will need a completed GDPR compliant photo consent form for each person. If children under 16 are featured, or they are unable to sign for themselves, their parents or guardians will need to sign on their behalf.
